14 Day Tag-a-Long Package -"Kimberley Remote"

Day 1 Arrive in Broome
Arrive in Broome & pickup your vehicle from the depot. The group will meet up at 1.30pm in their vehicles at Cable Beach. You will be welcomed by your guide where you will be given a debrief of the tour and the chance to meet your fellow travellers.

Mid afternoon you have the option to go with your guide to be given some basic 4WD instructions and practice or alternatively spend some time unwinding and exploring the local highlights in Broome. Everyone will be given time to prepare their vehicles with supplies and top up fuel etc. Later that evening the group will meet again to marvel at the sweeping white beaches, rich red outcrops and blazing turquoise water of cable beach at sunset and participate in a Group BBQ

Day 2: Broome to Windjana:
The group will meet early to begin the journey you will depart Broome and drive towards Derby where you will tour the town and the Jetty. From there you will head out onto the Gibb River Road and explore Western Australia's famous Devonian "Great Barrier Reef" Windjana Gorge and Tunnel Creek. These attractions were formed some 350 million years ago when the area was covered by tropical sea. The group will set up camp and in the afternoon you will take a look at the historic ruins and a walk through Tunnel Creek before spend the night at Windjana campground and another Group BBQ . ** Please note guests on the Bed and Meal Package will drive to Accommodation at Imintji**

Day 3: Windjana to Charnley River Station
Depart Windjana Gorge and back onto the Gibb River Road as the group is guided into Bell Gorge for Lunch. Bell Gorge is located within the stunning King Leopold Range National Park and is one of the most picturesque gorges in the Kimberley. You will have ample time to swim, take photographs and bushwalk. After lunch its off to Charnley River Station where you will have time to begin exploring this 750,000 acre working cattle Station. You will meet station owners Peter and Cheryl Camp where you will get an insight into remote country living and get to meet the stockmen, jackaroos and jillaroos who work on the station.

Day 4: Around Charnley River Station
A full day to relax and explore this magnificent part of the Kimberley. You will spend the day exploring the gorges & waterfalls on the property. Opportunities abound to enjoy swimming, fishing, canoeing and wildlife and birdlfe. With exclusive access areas you will enjoy a truely exceptional and authentic day in the heart of the Kimberley without the crowds . The roads in the property are well maintained and the attractions easy to find so you can join the group or travel independently today.

Day 5: Charnley River Station to King Edward River:
Day 5 the group departs Charnley Station and heads through the heart of Kimberley cattle country to discover some of the region’s most secluded gorges. At Galvans Gorge, a short walk leads to a picturesque waterhole, with Boab trees clinging to the escarpment above. Inspect the rock art on the gorge walls and take a leisurely swim. You stop at the Mt Barnett Roadhouse before travelling to beautiful Barnett River Gorge, where you can enjoy lunch in a setting of shady paperbark trees. Turning off the Gibb River Road, you will travel north on the Kalumburu Road, heading towards Mitchell Plateau. Ford the Drysdale River and, late this afternoon, the group will arrive at camp on the banks of the upper King Edward River.

Day 6. King Edward River, Mitchell Plateau
Ascending the Mitchell Plateau, you enter a remote world of Livistona palm forests, beautiful lookouts, ancient Aboriginal art, magnificent waterfalls and isolated swimming holes. Today, the group will see amazing Wandjina and Gwion (Bradshaw) rock art galleries yand will have time to discover the beauty of Mitchell Falls, with a magnificent system of waterfalls. You can swim in the pools above the falls, learn of local history and look for the region’s stunning wildlife

Day 7 Mitchell Plateau, King Edward River.
Travelling through Livistona palm forests, you will say goodbye to the awe inspiring scenery of the Mitchell Plateau. Lunch is at a majestic spot alongside the cool waters of the King Edward River, surrounded by pandanus and weeping melaluca trees. There is time for a swim before continuing to camp, situated on the banks of the upper King Edward River in a tranquil bush setting.

Day 8: King Edward River to El Questro.
Day 8 say goodbye to the and head down the Gibb river road into El Questro the world famous 1 million acres cattle station that has been made into a wilderness park. The section of road between Mount Elizabeth and El Questro offers excellent scenery and offers some challenge and adventure as you cross the mighty Pentecost River. At El Questro you will have an opportunity to check into your accommodation or set up camp. A free afternoon to enjoy the spectacular scenery, bushwalk or fish.

Day 9 Around El Questro
A full day to relax and explore the awesome attractions and things to do at El Questro Station. There are all sorts of station activities including flights, heli-fishing, gorge cruises, horseback, camel-riding, and bushwalks. You will be given a tour of El Questro Gorge - the most spectacular walk in the park making its way through narrow and shear cliff faces, clear rock pools and tropical rainforest. The group will also take in Zebedee Springs - a must do attraction. You will then have a free afternoon to stay with the guide and visit some other great spots or travel independently doing a Chamberlain Gorge Cruise or visit Emma Gorge to name just two.

Day 10: El Questro to Kununurra.
Day 8 the group departs El Questro and heads towards Kununurra with a detour to Wyndham and the spectacular Five Rivers Lookout. Along the way to stop at Parry's Lagoon Nature Reserve with its incredible display of birdlife. The Grotto and a visit to the huge Boab Prison Tree cap off a great morning. Arrive in Kununurra and check into your accommodation or your camp site. Late afternoon the group will tour some of Kunnurras great attractions around town including nearby Mirima (Hidden Valley) National Park known as the mini Bungle Bungles. Late afternoon the group will visit Kelly's Knob Lookout for one the truely great sunsets. *** Please note if your are planning a day trip on day 9 and want to visit lake argyle this afternoon you will be able to do so ***

Day 11 Kununurra to Bungle Bungles
The group departs Kununurra and heads down the Great Northern Highway to the Bungle Bungle National Park. The drive into the Park is an attraction in itself. Several open creek and river crossings and inspiring scenery make this slow track but a great 4WD trek. On arrival into the Bungles your guide will check you all into the National Park at the ranger station and take you to the Walardi Public Camping Area and nearby Bungle Bungle Wilderness Lodge (for people who have chosen the Bed & Meals Package). This afternoon your guide will take you to begin exploring some of the stunning attractions in the south of the Purnululu National Park (Bungle Bungles). Late evening you will be in awe of the stunning sunset and the effect it has on the surround landscape

Day 12 Around Bungle Bungles
A full day to relax and explore the simply awesome Bungle Bungles. A short drive to the start of the walk to Cathedral Gorge gets you up close to the widely photographed beehive domes. Cathedral Gorge is incredibly stunning with its towering beehive cliff faces and cold pool of water fringed by a sandy beach. Later in the day you will drive the full length of the Bungles to Echidna Chasm, Frog Hole Gorge & Mini Palms Gorge where you will experience a very different aspect on the Bungles.

Day 13: Bungles to Fitzroy Crossing
Day 13 the group will depart the Bungles and drive to Fitzroy Crossing. Along the way the group will have the chance to explore Halls Creek and its nearby attractions including China Wall & Old Halls Creek. Further along the group will stop for Lunch. After lunch at Mary Pool the group will continue the journey along the Great Northern Highway to Fitzroy Crossing. On arrival in Fitzroy Crossing you will check into your accommodation or your camp site before relaxing and spending whats left of the day or evening. Late afternoon the group will meet for the last night of the tour together with a BBQ Dinner.

Day 14: Fitzroy Crossing to Broome
Day 14 the group will spend the morning by travelling up to Geikie Gorge and explore an amazing example of the wonders of the Devonian reef. The group will spend the morning driving the 400km back to Broome to return your vehicle and depart Broome. Depending on what time you are departing Broome you have the option to explore some of Broome's attractions.
