Day 1 (Suggestion Only): Arrive Hobart : Hobart to Port Arthur

Day 1 Arrive in Hobart and pick up your vehicle before beginning your holiday. From the Airport drive to nearby Sorrell to pickup supplies and then begin driving to the Tasman Peninsula. Depending on your interests, detour via historic Richmond (arguably Tasmania's premier historic town) or head to Port Arthur via the stunning coastal scenery and walks of the Tasman National Park.

Day 2 (Suggestion Only): Port Arthur to Freycinet National Park

Day 2 Travel the from Port Arthur to Freycinet National Park home of Wineglass Bay (voted one of the most Beautiful Beaches in the World). As part of the package you have permission to drive along the dirt road Wielangta Forest Drive (well signposted) A recommend shortcut through beautiful Rainforests with some great short walks. On arrival into Freycinet National Park stop off at the Visitors Centre at Coles Bay.

Day 3 (Suggestion Only): Frecyinet National Park

A full day to relax and explore the Rugged Granite peaks and white sandy beaches of Freycinet National Park. Your time here can be as energetic and relaxing as you want it to be. Feel free to explore the park by foot on any of the 7 great short walks located in the park including the most celebrated 1-1.5 hr return walk to Wineglass Bay Lookout. Alternatively take a 3.5hr cruise around great coastal scenery with rugged pink granite cliffs and sea caves intermixed with pristine blue water and marine life including dolphins and whales (in Season).

Day 4 (Suggestion Only): Frecyinet National Park to St Helens

A flexible day to explore the stunning coastal scenery along Tasmania's North East. Depending on your interests an what time you leave Freycinet take the time to stop off and admire the awesome coastal scenery including Friendly Beach, around Bicheno including Douglas Aspey National Park and Lagoons Beach. Further North past St Helens explore around eclectic Binalong Bay and the Stunning coastline around Grants Point and the Bay of Fires (recently voted the 2nd Most Beautiful Beach in the world.

Day 5 (Suggestion Only): St Helens to Launceston

Day 5 offers a change of scenery as you head inland to Launceston amongst beautiful forest and stunning waterfalls. Depending on your interests and at what time you want to arrive in Launceston visit Halls Falls, Stunning St Coloumb Falls and/or Ralph Falls. Depending on what time you arrive in Launceston feel free to explore the wonderful attractions , eateries and wineries along the Tamar Valley Touring and Wine route. Alternatively marvel at the stunning Cataract Gorge.

Day 6 (Suggestion Only): Around Launceston

A free day to relax and explore around Launceston. Depending on your interests Choose to spend your time at stunning Cataract Gorge,and explore some of the large collection of magnificently preserved Victorian architecture. Alternatively spend the day at the quality wineries and orchards along the Tamar River Valley. including a visit to the Beconsfield Mine museum. Location of the mine rescue.

Day 7 (Suggestion Only): Launceston to Cradle Mountain

Day 7 has you travelling to World Heritage Listed Cradle Mountain. Arrive at Cradle Mountain at whatever time of day suits depending on you interests. Along the way you have the option to visit some great natural attractions including Liffey Falls, King Solomon Cave, Marakoopa Cave and Devils Gullet. On arrival into Cradle Mountain feel free to explore this stunning location on one of the many great short walks.

Day 8 (Suggestion Only): Cradle Mountain to Strahan

Day 8 has you travelling to the rugged West Coast of Tasmania staying at peaceful and well developed Strahan where you will spend the next 2 days exploring some of the stunning rainforest and mighty Gordon River on guided train and boat tours. Depart Cradle Mountain at whatever time of day suits however with ample time in Strahan you will have time to exploring more of the walks and points of interest around Cradle Mountain that you may not have had a change to experience the day before. Along the way you have the option to take the recommended detour into the facinating mining museum in Zeehan.

Day 9 (Suggestion Only): Around Strahan

A full day travelling on the West Coast Wilderness Railway. A scenic train journey between Strahan and Queenstown through massive hand cut rock cuttings, stunning rainforests and along the edge of plunginging gorges. Recently awarded national tourism awards this is one of Tasmanias premier tourist attractions.In addition to the stunning scenery, the journey gives visitors a great insight into the Pioneers who built the railway. Along the 35km journey which takes 6 hours you will see amazing feats of engineering and human spirit and stop at Stations of the past - where trained guides will bring to life the history and stories of this area and railway.

Day 10 (Suggestion Only): Around Strahan

A majestic day cruising within the Macquarie Harbour and into the mouth of the mighty Gordon River and the nearby World Heritage Area. Tasmania's world heritage area satisfies 7 of a possible 10 criteria, the highest of any place on earth. The cruise starts with a trip to Hells Gate before travelling to the mouth of the Gordon river where you will stop at Heritage Landing for a guided tour of the temperate rainforest before visiting Sarah island which is the oldest convict settlement established in the 1820's.On return back to Strahan feel free to spend time in the afternoon relaxing at the waterside cafes or exploring more of the attractions.

Day 11 (Suggestion Only): Strahan to Mount Field

Day 11 drive from Strahan to Hobart, an early start allows you to experience some of the great world heritage listed rivers rainforests and mountain rages that have made Tasmania famous. Along the way visit some great natural attractions that will both inspire and invigorate you. Visit Nelson Falls and the Franklin River. Choose from some of the great short walks around Lake St Clair, including a cruise on Australia's deepest Freshwater Lake. Continue your journey on the scenic drive to Mount Field National Park with worthwhile stops at "The Wall" and some of Tasmania's immense hydroelectricity stations and associated infrastructure.

Day 12 (Suggestion Only): Mount Field to Hobart

Day 12 drive the 75km from Mount Field to Hobart. Your departure time will depend on the attractions you want to experience from these two locations and along the way. Mt Field National Park is arguably Tasmania's most visited national parks. The park has a wide variety of scenic features and wildlife and offers a great range of facilities for day visitors. Few other national parks in Australia offer such a diversity in vegetation, ranging from tall swamp gum forests and massive tree ferns at the base of the mountain, through rainforest, to alpine vegetation at the higher elevations.

Day 13 (Suggestion Only): Around Hobart

A free day to relax and explore around Hobart. Choose to spend your time in Hobart relaxing on the Harbour Foreshore and taking the scenic drive to the top of Mount Wellington is a highlight of any trip to Hobart. Alternatively take a day trip along the Huon Trail that leads you through the Huon Valley, D’Entrecasteaux Channel and Bruny Island. Visit Hartz Mountain National Park and then the increasingly popular Huon Airway Walk.

A free day to relax and explore around Hobart. Choose to spend your time in Hobart or do the day trip along the Huon Trail and Hartz Mountain National Park depending on how you spent your full day yesterday. The other way to think of this day is as a spare day incase you decide that you want to spend extra time at a particular location in the previous 13 days. Please note Vehicle needs to be returned by 4pm on day 14.
